Return & Warranty Policy 1. Overview At GT Fishing & Tackle, we’re a small, family-run Australian business and genuinely appreciate every single order that comes through. We take pride in what we do and always aim to make sure our customers are looked after properly. We understand that sometimes things don’t go to plan, and when that happens, we’ll work with you to find a fair and reasonable outcome. This policy outlines your rights and our obligations in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Nothing in this policy excludes or limits your rights under the ACL.
2. Change of Mind Returns We do not offer refunds for change of mind. At our discretion, we may offer a store credit or exchange within 14 days of delivery. Items must be: * Unused * In their original packaging * In resellable condition Return shipping costs for change-of-mind returns are the responsibility of the customer.
3. Faulty or Damaged Products If your item arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, you may be entitled to a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law. If you believe an item is faulty, please get in touch with us so we can assist. In most cases, the product may need to be returned so it can be inspected. Where applicable, faulty items may be sent back to the manufacturer or authorised supplier for assessment and warranty processing. This helps ensure the issue is properly identified and the appropriate outcome is provided.
4. Major vs Minor Faults Under the Australian Consumer Law: A major failure may include: * The product is unsafe * The product is significantly different from its description * The product doesn’t do what it is normally expected to do and cannot easily be fixed For a major failure, you may be entitled to choose a refund or replacement. For a minor failure that can be fixed, we may choose to repair the item, replace the item or provide another appropriate remedy in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.
5. Warranty Policy Many products sold by GT Fishing & Tackle come with a manufacturer’s warranty. Where applicable, warranty claims may need to be processed directly with the manufacturer or the product may first need to be returned to GT Fishing & Tackle for assessment. We can assist in guiding you through the process. Where GT Fishing & Tackle provides a limited store warranty, it covers manufacturing defects only. Unless otherwise required under Australian Consumer Law, warranty coverage does not apply to: * Normal wear and tear * Misuse or incorrect use * Damage caused by saltwater corrosion, poor maintenance or neglect * Improper storage * Accidental damage Nothing in this warranty section limits any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. Return Conditions Before sending an item back, please contact us for approval and return instructions. All returns must: * Include proof of purchase * Be securely packaged for return * Meet the applicable return requirements outlined above For change-of-mind returns, we reserve the right to decline items that show signs of use, damage or are not in resellable condition. These conditions do not limit your rights in relation to faulty products under Australian Consumer Law.
7. Shipping Costs Customers are responsible for return shipping costs for approved change-of-mind returns. Where an item is confirmed to be faulty, damaged or otherwise covered by your rights under Australian Consumer Law, shipping costs will be handled in accordance with those rights. Original shipping costs are generally non-refundable for change-of-mind returns.
8. Processing Time Once we receive your return, please allow 3–7 business days for assessment. Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method.
